Industrial thermocouples are widely used temperature sensors that are essential for various applications due to their durability, accuracy, and ability to measure temperatures in harsh environments.
A thermocouple consists of two dissimilar metal wires joined at one end, known as the measuring junction. The other end is the reference junction. When the measuring junction is exposed to a different temperature than the reference junction, a voltage is generated due to the Seebeck effect.
Common materials used for thermocouples include nickel, iron, copper, and various metal alloys. The choice of materials determines the thermocouple's temperature range and accuracy.
