A thermocouple is a temperature sensor that consists of two dissimilar metals or alloys joined together at one end. When the junction of these two metals is heated or cooled, it generates a small voltage across the other end. This voltage, known as the Seebeck voltage, varies with temperature and can be measured to determine the temperature of the junction.
